The first stage in becoming a driving instructor is to identify the correct driving instructor training - a number of specialist driving instructor courses are available.
Becoming a driving instructor requires three stages of qualification, that must be completed in sequence. The first is a driving instructor theory test, which can be undertaken as home study in the student's own time. The second is a driving skill test, which requires specialised driving instructor training, as does the third, which is an instructing skills test.
